Different types of Certifications of a Locksmith

When you know that the locksmith you hired is certified, you’ll be sure that you're getting the best service possible. A certified locksmith has all the skills and experience needed to ensure your safety and security with your locks.

With the continuous innovation and evolution of locks, being certified means keeping up with the competition. It makes a locksmith the most skilled and knowledgeable when it comes to security measures. As long as your locksmith has certifications from Associate Locksmiths of America (ALOA) or Safe and Vault Technician’s Association (SAVTVA), your safety and protection are in good hands.

Certified Registered Locksmith

The first level of locksmith certification. To acquire this, an individual must passed 10 mandatory categories and 2 specialized electives. This is the level of having a good knowledge of general locksmithing.

Certified Professional Locksmith

The second level of locksmith certification. An individual must be a CRL and needs to passed addition 12 elective categories. This is the level of having an advanced knowledge of general locksmithing and specialized in many areas.

Certified Master Locksmith

The highest level of locksmith certification. Acquiring this needs to reach the highest level of ALOA’s Proficiency Registration Program and 90% competency of the available categories should be demonstrated. This is the level of having an advanced knowledge of specializing in most areas and electronic security.

Certified Automotive Locksmith

A certification that specialized in automotive. An individual must passed the exam for certification and a has a good knowledge of all features of automotive locksmith.

Certified Professional Safe Technician

The first level of STPRP or SAVTA Safe Technicians Proficiency Registration Program. An individual must demonstrate 17 safe and vault categories successfully.

Certified Master Safe Technician

The highest level of STPRP. An individual must demonstrate an advanced proficiency in safe and vault categories successfully.
